A Day to Remember

Sorry, Dorie, but it's all about England at our house today. I am so excited about the Royal Wedding and have taken the day off from work to watch it 'live' with my daughter. We can't wait to see Kate's dress! John thinks this is so silly of us to stay up to watch it and I will certainly tell him the same when he wakes up in the wee hours of the night to watch Wimbledon this summer. Of course, I am sure he will be joining us for breakfast which will include tea, scones, and this beautiful tin of Scottish shortbread biscuits that my dear friend, Joanna, sent from England. I just love the design on the tin and the Cath Kidston commemorative towel. Thank you so much, Joanna!

After I get some sleep later today, I will check in with my fellow Doristas to see if they made French fries with their steaks. :) Have a great Friday, everyone!

  2. Oh my... that was one late night/EARLY morning for you! Wasn't everything beautiful? I thought she was gorgeous, so reminiscent of the Grace Kelly dress. (Sigh!)

  6. Elaine, How wonderful that you and your daughter stayed up and watched the wedding together. What a wonderful memory you have made. I love your tin and tea towel! Kate's gown was very reminiscent of Grace Kelly's. They showed a photo to compare both today. Cheers!! And happy wedding watching!!

  7. My Penguin granddaughter wanted to watch (re-runs) the royal wedding and all the ceremony that went with it this morning so we had fun with all that beautiful prince and princess dreaming and we talked about the wedding all day...such a fairy tale. Enjoyed your post much more than if I had seen another steak.

  12. I left YouTube on my laptop and woke up to a man's voice. I thought it was a burgler outside, but it was the minister at the "Abbey". 3:15 am I watched the vows, then went back to bed - so I DID see some of it live! Great that you two enjoyed the evening together - great mementos displayed!

  15. So Elaine

Now that you've watched the Royal Wedding, better known as "the Wedding of the Century" what do you think? I loved Kate's dress. She looked stunning.

Staying home from work and watching it live sounds like a super idea. Then tea and breakfast... wow!
