This year I made some handmade treats for Valentines. I have never made truffles, but thought it would be neat to make something that you spend around $1.00 or $1.50 each (sometimes more) at a candy store. Surprisingly, the recipe had very few ingredients and even though it took a little time to make because you have to let them harden before you can roll them in cocoa, it was kind of fun and really rewarding. I put them inside some cute valentine boxes (Martha Stewart crafts, of course) that I had embellished with a little glitter. Here is what my little truffles look like in all their finery.
I also made a chocolate heart bundt cake. I have never owned a bundt cake pan, let alone made one, but as soon as the heart bundt cake pan came out in the Martha Stewart collection I just knew that I had to have it. The chocolate cake recipe was included with the pan.
Well, it is obviously going to be a chocolate-y day around my house. Happy Valentine's Day!

Beautiful! Love the bundt cake! The actual cake looks so much better than the pan.... hm... maybe I should pick one up on sale for next year? Love the boxes of chocolates - perfect size - and they looked delicious! Looks like a lot of people made truffles this year! Happy Valentine's Day!
