After all the rain we got last week, the sun is out and the skies are a gorgeous blue with beautiful white, puffy clouds. I have been itching to get outside and do some work in the garden and since I have a few days off of work that is just what I am planning to do.
I stopped by Whole Foods on the way home from work. I just love it when they put out their organic herbs and vegetables. I bought some flat leaf parsley, thyme, rosemary, and chives so I can have fresh herbs again. We had so many days of freezing temperatures that I lost most of the herbs I was growing and I felt double the pain every time I had to buy them at the grocery store for French Fridays with Dorie. It gets a little costly to keep buying them fresh at the store, so until the ones I am growing from seed are ready I thought I would buy a few of these in the meantime. There's just nothing like fresh herbs to cook with, is there?

Your herb garden is beautiful! It's nice the weather is starting to change. I enjoy getting outside and digging in the dirt too!
ReplyDeletea herb garden- I need to get on that! thanks for the reminder- I think I'll stop by whole foods soon!
ReplyDeleteI've got to get on this, too. I have pots on our balcony for herbs, but they never seem to survive the winter. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteI'm getting the itch to start gardening too - in fact I'll be hitting the nursery later today to pick up some seeds. I miss my herbs too!
ReplyDeleteHow funny- I just stopped by WF for the weekly shopping and picked up my second batch of herbs. Looking forward to some gardening time myself!
ReplyDeleteYou're all so lucky to be thinking about gardening. We are expecting more snow tomorrow!! What a winter! I am so looking forward to getting out in my garden…I also grow herbs, veggies and some berries! Enjoy your days off and your planting!
ReplyDeleteI hate to be a doubting Thomas, but our skies have once again turned gray and uninviting. I don't think Mother Nature is finished with us just yet. I hope you're right and I wrong. I hope you have a great day. Blessings...Mary
ReplyDeleteYou're right about herbs.. nothing beats cooking with freshly snipped herbs from the garden or from a big herb pot.
ReplyDeleteI'm so anxious for the weather to warm here so I can plant. I need COLOR in my life!
Oh, I am getting so anxious to start my herb garden...too bad we had snow yesterday!!! I hear ya on the amount of herbs we're buying for FFwD...worth it, but the $$$$...yikes!
ReplyDeleteOne more thing I have to do as it is now sunny and gorgeous here too. Loves me some herbs!
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous that you are planting herbs. Mine are all dormant, looking rather sad while they wait for spring weather to arrive. It's snowing again as we speak. I have a pot of mesclun lettuce growing in the bedroom (sunniest window), almost ready to eat. How I long for some California weather!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you are having nice weather on the West coast! We'll live vicariously through you until ours gets here. I too can't wait until I can plant my herbs for the summer! Enjoy your days off and have fun!
ReplyDeleteI have sage and rosemary growing in my balcony. My basil plant died and I've never been able to keep parsley alive. This year I wanna grow veggies too: tomato, zucchini, eggplant... how wonderful would it be to eat a salad from your garden?
ReplyDeleteHow exciting! There is nothing like fresh a herb garden!! It's that time of year again--yay! Our Whole Foods has them out, also!
