Christmas Bird Count

The National Audubon Society's Christmas Bird Count begins December 14th and ends January 5th. Your local count will occur on one day between those dates. The Christmas Bird Count helps identify birds in most need of conservation action and reveals success stories. The count helped document the comeback of the previously endangered Bald Eagle and Brown Pelican. Follow this link to find out more information on how you can participate.

  1. Such an interesting and worthwhile cause. Good luck with the counting and I hope you will be able to see a variety of birds!

  3. How neat! I wonder if sparrows are on the endangered list. I'd like to participate, but I'm sure those are the only birds I would see! But at least they are getting fed and have a place to eat nowadays (thanks to you). I'm not so much of a scrooge to them anymore!
