The Air We Breathe

This looks like there is smoke from a fire down the street, right? No. It is the air that we are currently breathing in the Sacramento area. As far as I know there are no fires in the immediate vacinity. My guess is that the smoke is coming from the over 47,000 acres that have been burning since June 21st in Butte County just north of us.

The current temperature. Yes, that says 109 degrees. The air that we have been breathing for the past several weeks combined with the sweltering temps we have been experiencing this week is making conditions intolerable. If the conditions are bad here, I cannot imagine what they must be like for the people who live in the midst of where the fires are raging and for the brave men and women who are desperately trying to put these fires out.

  1. I think about you all the time when I hear the news about the fires that just continue to rage. What a horrible way to spend Summer.

  2. Please take care Elaine, I can't imagine how hard it must be just to breathe.

  3. wow. There were some forest fires in Virginia (on our side of the continent!) when we were on our way down to North Carolina. I coughed the entire way through. Stay healthy. And thanks for reading the happy living Blog!
